A Modern Move for DEFRA
The Digital Waste Tracking Service is a new UK Government (DEFRA) initiative designed to create a clearer digital record of waste movements. The idea is to replace fragmented paper-based records with consistent information that can be shared with regulators.
From October 2026, Phase One of the requirement will apply to sites that hold the relevant waste permits in England and Wales.
