Venezuela Ratifies the Kigali Amendment
The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela are the latest country to ratify the Kigali Amendment to the Montreal Protocol.
Venezuela’s ratification follows the Grenadines and St. Vincent’s ratifications last month, making Venezuela the 145th country to ratify the Amendment.
The Kigali Amendment to the Montreal Protocol commits those who sign to phasedown the use of HFCs by over 80% in the next 30 years. It is hoped that the global implementation of the Kigali Amendment will prevent up to 80 billion tonnes of CO2 equivalent emissions by 2050.
