The United Arab Emirates Ratifies the Kigali Amendment

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) are the latest country to ratify the Kigali Amendment to the Montreal Protocol.

The UAE are the 159th country to ratify the Kigali Amendment, in doing so, they have committed to phasing down the consumption and production of Hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) by over 80% in the next 30 years.

It is hoped that the global acceptance and implementation of the Kigali Amendment will prevent an estimated 80 billion tonnes equivalent emissions by 2050.
