More Kigali Ratifications Ahead of COP27!
Before COP27 commences this week, there has been a whirlwind of ratifications to the Kigali Amendment to the Montreal Protocol.
Following the USA’s historic ratification of the Amendment, three more countries, the Philippines, Nauru, and Belarus have committed to phasedown the use of HFC Refrigerants. Taking the total number of countries that have ratified the Kigali Amendment to 143.
As agreed by the parties to the Montreal Protocol, the Kigali Amendment commits those that ratify to phasedown their consumption and production of HFC Refrigerants by more than 80% in the next 30 years.
