Mongolia Ratifies the Kigali Amendment

With the addition of Mongolia, the number of countries who have ratified the Kigali Amendment now sits at 137.

The Kigali Amendment to the Montreal Protocol commits those who sign to cut the production of HFCs (Hydrofluorocarbons) by more than 80% in the next 30 years, as agreed by all 197 parties to the Montreal Protocol.

It is estimated that the global implementation of the Kigali Amendment to the Montreal Protocol would prevent up to 80 million tonnes CO2 equivalent of emissions by 2050.
