AGAS - Together we can
Launching A-Gas' Stop Work Authority Programme

At A-Gas, we put safety at the forefront of what we do every day.

That is why we are launching the Stop Work Authority Programme to ensure our global operations are as safe as possible.

The Stop Work Authority Programme gives A-Gas employees the right and responsibility to refuse tasks or activities that pose a risk to themselves, co-workers, property, or the environment.

This means that:

  • Any person (employee, contractor, visitor) must speak up, stop work, and report any hazards, unsafe behaviours, and/or conditions at our operations and sites when they see them, working with our teams to create a safe working environment. At A-Gas, no one is authorised to disregard a stop-the-work warning.

  • No one is expected to perform any function, task, or activity, or accept any direction if they consider it unsafe to themselves or others. No one should create an unsafe situation, regardless of title, level of authority, or rank.

When an A-Gas employee observes an unsafe situation,  act, or hazard on the job, they must stop work on their own behalf or on behalf of another person at risk. If they or someone else is in immediate danger, they must stop the work and work to create a safe working environment.
