In Singapore, spent refrigerants are classified as a toxic waste. Under the Environmental Public Health Act and Environmental Public Health (Toxic Industrial Waste) Regulations, all Toxic Industrial Waste Collectors (TIWC) must be licensed by the National Environmental Agency (NEA).
