HOW can technicians use it?
Identify the estimated refrigerant charge in the system being recovered.
Select the appropriate reclaim cylinder size based on the required recovery volume.
Divide the system charge by the cylinder's maximum refrigerant fill weight to calculate the number of cylinders required.
CALCULATION
SYSTEM REFRIGERANT CHARGE ÷ MAX REFRIGERANT FILL WEIGHT = CYLINDERS REQUIRED
Always round up to the next whole cylinder — never exceed the maximum fill weight.
Use the Max Gross Weight shown on the guide to check the total weight of each filled cylinder.
Weigh cylinders during the recovery process to ensure they remain within the maximum gross weight limit.
Use the guide to plan cylinder requirements before arriving on site, helping ensure the correct number of cylinders are available for the job.
EXAMPLE (300 KG REFRIGERANT RECOVERY)
300 ÷ 42 = 7.14 cylinders
Estimated system charge: 300 kg
Selected cylinder size: Large
Maximum refrigerant fill: 42 kg
Based on the above example, 8 × large reclaim cylinders are required
This gives the contractor enough cylinder capacity to safely recover the 300 kg refrigerant charge without exceeding the maximum refrigerant fill weight of the cylinders.
