Happy World Refrigeration Day!

Every year on June 26th, global communities celebrate World Refrigeration Day, promoting the people and technologies that enhance the industry and environment.

The theme for 2025 is #CoolSkills, recognizing the wide range of expertise required to deliver innovative cooling and heating solutions. The theme has enabled businesses globally to showcase how talented professionals are advancing energy efficiency, reducing emissions, and supporting climate goals.

At A-Gas, we proudly sponsor World Refrigeration Day annually and are pleased to support its goals. As a market-leading lifecycle refrigerant management (LRM) business, we recover, reclaim, and repurpose (or, where no future reuse is possible, safely destroy) legacy refrigerants, supporting a diverse range of customers and industries.

By investing in LRM and embracing circular economy principles, the industry has an opportunity to help reduce global carbon dioxide-equivalent (CO₂e) emissions. We spoke with Louise McCann, A-Gas Group Commercial and Sustainability Director, about our LRM capabilities, changing the perspective on refrigerants, and supporting the industry. Watch the video below to find out more.

Recognizing Our Cool Skills

Each one of our team members has a range of #CoolSkills that help us protect and enhance the environment by effectively managing the lifecycle of refrigerants.

In Canada, we're proud to showcase Cory Bancroft's cool skills. Cory is a Separation Technician for Refrigerant Services Ins. (RSI), which was recently acquired by A-Gas. Cory’s primary focus is separating used refrigerants for future reclamation and reuse, extending their lifecycle, and preventing potential emissions—all of which play a major role in the future of our industry.

🛠️ Problem Solving – When it comes to separating refrigerant, no two problems are the same. Cory’s wide-ranging skills mean that he can resolve issues quickly and effectively.

🤝 Teamwork – Cory works with people in a broad range of roles at the plant outside of Halifax, Canada ensuring site safety, product and process quality, and strong results are priority.

👀 Attention to Detail – Separation is the building block for reclamation. The skills Cory uses every day make sure that recovered gas achieves industry-accepted quality levels.

You can learn more about the many different cool skills needed across the industry on the World Refrigeration Day's Cool Skills Showcase.
