September 16th is World Ozone Day, a day to commemorate when the nations signed the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer in 1987. Today we celebrate 35 years of the Montreal Protocol’s success in protecting the ozone layer against ozone depleting substances and global warming gases that also cause climate change.
The theme of this year’s World Ozone Day is: Global Cooperation Protecting Life on Earth. The theme aims to recognise the impact the Montreal Protocol has on climate change, and the immediate need to collaborate and forge partnerships to protect the earth for future generations.
This year’s theme goes hand in hand with what we strive to achieve each day at A-Gas, our goal and purpose as a business, to protect and enhance the environment by effectively managing the lifecycle of halocarbons to build a sustainable future. This is a target we cannot achieve alone, but as our tagline and this year’s World Ozone Day theme reminds us, Together We Can.
