A-Gas Showcases LRM capabilities at China Refrigeration Expo in Shanghai

A-Gas recently participated in the 2025 Ozone2Climate Technology Roadshow and Industry Roundtable during China Refrigeration Expo on April 27th-29th in Shanghai.
The Ozone2Climate (O2C) Technology Roadshow and Industry Roundtable is a flagship initiative of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) OzoneAction, established to promote knowledge and information exchange across a global platform.
The conference brought together experts from government agencies, including China’s Ministry of Ecology and Environment and the Foreign Economic Cooperation Office, as well as international organizations such as the UNEP and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
Industrial associations, private companies, institutes, and universities also contributed to insights on the latest developments in policies, laws and regulations, technologies, and commercial initiatives across sectors and regions.

Louise McCann, Group Commercial Director at A-Gas, was invited to present at the event to showcase A-Gas’ lifecycle refrigerant management (LRM) capabilities and the opportunities that LRM could offer to the Chinese refrigerant industry.
Her presentation “Good Practice in the Servicing Sector” was a fantastic opportunity to provide a high-level introduction to A-Gas’ role as a global leader in LRM.

The Asia-Pacific region is the largest producer and consumer of HCFCs and HFCs, and China accounts for over 70% of global production and consumption of these gases. With the accelerated phase-down schedule for HCFCs and HFCs now underway, the related policies, regulations and procedures for refrigerant management are slowly beginning to be introduced.
These policies are expected to drive growth opportunities for A-Gas in this region and participating at the event enabled us to commence meaningful conversations with government officials and industry stakeholders from China and other key players in key developing countries.
“As a result, we expect this engagement to continue, and we hope by sharing A-Gas’ experiences, we can support earlier adoption of LRM initiatives in this region.”
