A-Gas Team Keep Their Cool at the Portishead Soapbox Race 2019
Members of the A-Gas UK team recently took part in the infamous Portishead Soapbox Race to raise money for St Peter’s Hospice.
We brought our “Together We Can” attitude to the occasion, working as a team to create our vehicle and ensuring everything stayed on track for the event. The team was made up of members from our Portbury Engineering Team (with support from fans from across the UK business) and the vehicle design was inspired by our “E Machino” refrigerant recovery system.
Thanks to an incredible effort made by all, we made it over the finish line in one piece and came an impressive 11th out of 40 entrants. Congratulations, team!
A special thanks goes to our driver, Sam Pearce, who manoeuvred the track with great technique, despite getting a little bruised in the process!
The Portishead Soapbox Race is hosted once a year in Portishead (home of the A-Gas head office) and brings in big crowds from the local area. This was a great opportunity to raise money for charity and provided an opportunity for the UK Engineering Team to apply their knowledge to a different challenge!
