Rachel’s Running the London Marathon

Rachel Marshall, Business Administrator, A-Gas will be taking on the challenge of running the Virgin Money London Marathon, 2018 on the 22nd of April.

“I have been given the most amazing opportunity of a charity place at this year’s London Marathon and I am proud to be doing this on behalf of Save the Children,” comments Rachel, “It has been a dream of mine to run the London Marathon and I’m thrilled that I can support this fantastic cause at the same time.”

The marathon is a 26.2-mile course and has been a major event in the UK since 1981. It has welcomed over one million participants from all over the world to take part and those that have run on behalf of a charity have raised more than £830 million.

Save the Children works in more than 120 countries to save children’s lives, fight for their rights and help them to fulfil their potential. The charity has multiple projects overseas, including the treatment of malnourished children in West Africa, helping to build stronger health systems in poorer countries (e.g. Sierra Leone) and they also support some of the poorest children and their families within the UK.

If you would like to donate and help support this amazing charity, please visit Rachel’s fundraising page.

Rachel is a seasoned runner and has run for charity in previous events such as 10K runs and half marathons. This will be her biggest challenge so far; she has been training rigorously since last November, through wind, snow, rain and shine and very early morning starts!

Good luck, Rachel. The team will be cheering you on!
