The AFK laboratory has been constructed and equipped in line with the strict guidelines of AHRI 700 testing requirements. Our expert team across Europe provides analysis and related services through our state-of-the-art, on-site laboratories to ensure the quality of all products.
Our analysis services are ideal for use on systems that have operational problems or as part of a planned preventative maintenance program. Our services enable end users to test the working fluids of a running system and establish whether the fluids are contaminated.
The refrigerant samples taken are sent by us to an accredited laboratory where they tested for the degree of purity and possible impurities according to DIN 8960 (refrigerant requirements). For taking samples we have small 6L cylinders in our programme which, if required, we would be glad to provide you with. Tests are also carried out for water content, acid content, oil content, air and purity. The analysis report can be written in German or English.

Utilising chromatographic separation and mass spectral identification, our testing and analytical services are offered on unknown inert gases, flammable gases and toxic gasses to help users identify what the product is.

Oil analysis can provide early warning of potential problems by identifying concentrations of metals and other contaminants in the oil. This can avoid unscheduled downtime and prevent damage to equipment. Our oil analysis kit contains a small bottle to take the oil sample and an instruction form which both need to be returned to AFK for analysis to be completed on your behalf.

Refrigeration systems that contain Carbon Dioxide (CO2/R744) require strict controls on moisture, oil and other contaminants. Our CO2 analysis service enables end users to identify the purity and moisture levels of the product in the system. Our analysis cylinders have been designed specifically for liquid CO2 samples to be charged into the cylinder and our laboratory facilities have been set up to handle the analysis based on the specifications set by the industry standard. The correct sampling techniques and appropriate cylinders are essential for obtaining a meaningful analytical result (a standard refrigerant analysis cylinder is not suitable for this use).
