Operations – A-GAS United Kingdom

A-Gas UK’s facility at Portbury is located close to the M4 and M5 motorways just outside Bristol. The site is ISO 9001/2000 registered and is a fully licensed waste management site for the recovery and  recycling HCFC and HFC refrigerants by the UK Environment agency.

A laboratory equipped with extensive analytical and testing equipment provides both quality control and product development facilities. The filling plant employs the latest computerised filling equipment for a range of drum and cylinder sizes. A cylinder fleet of over 100,000 cylinders all rated for the new high pressure HFC gases such as R410A, this inconjuction with the A-Gas tracking system 'Cyltrak' allows for optimum supply logistics, and all cylinders are fitted with the very latest valve technology to ensure ease of use and integrity of contents at all times.

A-Gas UK has 9 bulk storage tanks providing total storage capacity of over 400 tonnes and facilities for computer controlled batch blending of both non-flammable and flammable gases and volatile liquids. A-Gas UK’s storage and blending facilities have been expanded to accommodate a new range of blowing agents based on HFC 365mfc. A fleet of multi-compartment bulk liquid and gas tankers serves bulk customers, and distinctive curtain-sided 40’ articulated vehicles deliver packaged product to the Climate Center branch network and throughout the UK. A-Gas UK operates a responsible care approach and offers a refrigerants recovery service through Climate Center.

Extensive infrastructure has been installed for the decanting and distribution of industrial gases including oxygen free nitrogen and various CO2 mixtures, such as Beer Gas, used in the hospitality industry for dispensing beer and other drinks.

Operations – A-GAS Australia

A-Gas AU’s facility at Laverton is located between the centre of Melbourne and the airport. The site comprises a modern office building which houses management, sales support and administration personnel in a modern environment incorporating sophisticated IT equipment. The second stage expansion, including the awarding of AS/NZS ISO 9001:2000 & AS/NZS 4801:2001quality certification, commissioned in 2002 includes the incorporation of an additional 7 bulk storage tanks and a new state of the art laboratory equipped with analytical and testing equipment to provide quality control and product development activities. The facility employs the latest computerized filling equipment for a range of drums and cylinders, currently 80,000 cylinders in a variety of sizes including 12 kg, 22 kg and 70 kg. Cylinders are rated for the new high-pressure HFC gases, such as R410A, and this allows for optimum supply logistics. All cylinders are fitted with sophisticated new valves to ensure ease of use and integrity of contents.

A-Gas AU in conjunction with Heatcraft distributes pre-filled cylinders of refrigerant within the Australian market under the program “Gas2Go”. All cylinders are bar coded and tracked under the A-Gas in-house tracking system ‘Cyltrak™’, which in conjunction with Microsoft Great Plains received the Microsoft Business Solution Award for Innovation in 2003, and has been introduced to other A-Gas sites. This service has provided the market with the highest quality packaging and product quality whilst meeting statutory and regulatory compliance issues. This change provides improved environment and safety benefits to the customer as well as economic benefits as more expensive HFC products become available.

A-Gas AU has 10 bulk storage tanks, with blending facilities providing total storage capacity of over 500 tonnes. Further investment is currently being made in additional cylinders and plant for our new venture into OFN (Oxygen Free Nitrogen) and other specialty gases.

Operations – A-GAS South Africa

A-Gas SA Cape Town plant is the largest of its kind on the African continent. Eight horizontal bulk tanks provide 500 tonnes of storage capacity serving computer controlled filling lines for a full range of cylinder sizes, cylinders are tracked with the A-Gas tracking system 'Cyltrak' which was installed during 2005. The latest technology is employed throughout the ISO 9001 quality and ISO 14001 environmental registered facility.

A-Gas SA fleet of over 18,000 cylinders and 500 tonne drums is fitted with modern valve technology to ensure ease of use and quality. Modern two-storey offices complete an impressive facility, which reinforces A-Gas SA’s commitment to the South African market.

Operations – A-GAS Asia

A-Gas has identified Asia/China as a rapidly expanding fluorocarbon manufacturing industry with key cost advantages.

A-GAS South East Asia
A-Gas SEA was launched at the HVAC 2000 exhibition in Singapore in 2000, and has established itself as a quality branded distributor within the South East Asian region. With the flexibility of product pack sizes, and entrepreneurial drive, business relationships have been generated throughout the region with local distributors, after-market wholesalers and multinational OEMs. A-Gas SEA enjoys key strategic distribution partnerships with local distributors and OEM's such as Daikin Singapore.

A-Gas SEA’s regional head office has established a distribution and logistics network utilizing the benefits of Singapore as its base to progress other step-out activities into neighbouring countries including Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Korea and the Philippines.

A-GAS Solpac
To accelerate its growth in Asia/China during 2005, A-Gas established a 50/50 joint ventrure, A-Gas Solpac, in Singapore with a trading division in Bangkok, Thailand - A-Gas Solpac Thailand.

A-GAS China
During 2006 A-Gas entered into a joint venture relationship with Solpac Chemicals. Solpac, with the assistance of A-Gas Australia's technical support and guidance, has established a repackaging plant in Guangzhou, China enhancing their existing local distribution network. As well as continued technical support and strategic managment input, A-Gas will also provide support for the installation of new IT and financial management systems.

Operations– A-GAS Americas

The unparalleled growth of A-Gas continued in January, 2005 with the opening of the offices of A-Gas Americas.  With a strong background in the development of next generation technologies in the areas of foam blowing, A-Gas Americas quickly has become a significant player in the market.  A strong partnership was developed in Mexico with Comercializadora Industrial JFD SA de CV (CIJSA), and together quickly became a significant market presence in the country developing strong strategic partnerships with key system houses. In December, 2005, CIJSA was acquired by A-Gas International Holdings to cement the relationship.

As of the start of 2007, A-Gas Americas has continued its strong growth with the development of a family of next generation blowing agents, offering a variety of hydrocarbon products to the PIR, PUR, and EPS markets. A-Gas Americas also provides the more traditional HFC’s and HCFC’s, including HFC-134a, HCFC-22, HCFC-141b and HCFC-142b.  These products have gained wide acceptance in the US, Canada and Mexico.

Supply to the refrigeration market has seen similar growth.  A-Gas Americas has developed a number of partners in the region for the supply of a wide range of products, including R-22 and HFC-134a. These products are available in a multitude of presentations ranging from single use 340g cans, traditional disposables and bulk isotanks.

A-Gas Americas has also made strong inroads in supply of aerosol propellants.  Strong connectivity to the producers has resulted in significant sales activity in HFC-152a and HFC-134a.
